How use FontHit

  1. Double Quotes(") group words into phrases
    Using "adrian frutiger" will return only those results that have word frutiger immideately after word adrian.
  2. Plus(+) or minus(-) signs include or exclude words or phrases
    Searching for +"adrian frutiger" -cyrillic will return all results that contain the phrase adrian frutiger but not cyrillic.
  3. Wildcard(*) matches partial words
    Results for key* will will match all of the following: keyset, keyboard, keystroke, key, etc...
  4. Search particular fields
    By default, FontHit searches multiple fields that are avaialable. You can limit your search to one or more at a time. If you search for name:frutiger, the results will only contain fonts that have frutiger in their name, but not fonts that were designed by Adrian him. Other available fields are features: and price:.
  5. Field ranges
    You can find fonts that are more expensive than $300 by searching for price:[300 TO *] (to all commercial fonts have price data at this point). Or you can get fonts that have a word in their name that starts with a letter 'a' or 'b' name:[a TO c].
  6. Sort Results
    It is possible to sort the results by something other than relevenacy. name:helvetica; price desc, name asc will sort results from most expensive to cheapest and those that have the same price will be ordered alphabetically by their name.
